Who's in your squad? #squadgoals

Some say we are the average of our friends? In other words, if I never met you, a close look at 2-3 of your closest friend will reflect who you are.

Christian Friendships-Squad Goals

As a military wife, the word "squad" is often heard in my community. A squad is defined as a small group of people organized in a common endeavor or activity. This term is most often used in the sense of a tactical military group. Your squad is that inner circle that you can count on to fight alongside.

My friends, who's in your squad?

Is your squad full of those you can trust to get you through tough times?

Is your squad full of those who encourage you to do better?

Is your squad helping or hindering you?

Does your squad gossip, quarrel, compete, and envy?

Or does your squad encourage, uplift, and help carry you in prayer when you are in battle?

Your squad is important. Your squad will play a role in how you get through your battles.

Your squad can make or break your victory!!

Consider the soldier on the battle field. In the heat of a war, where so many are falling around him, he's not looking for a wimpy squad. In fact, he's looking for those who can carry him off the battle field. Those who can see the enemy when he can't see the enemy. Those who can encourage him when he's ready to run away from the fight. Those who won't put him down when things didn't go according to plan.

His squad must be strong.

His squad must be merciful.

His squad must have his best interest in mind.

There will be no time for nonsense on the battlefield. He will need his squad, and they will need him.

My friends, who's in your squad?

Can you imagine if the soldier had to deal with a different kind of squad? A squad that was so full of jealousy for him maybe they didn't rescue him when he needed it...A squad who only looked out for themselves on the field...A squad who criticized every move he made on the field...A squad who was so busy talking about other squads they were distracted? Our soldier, would be in a terrible situation if this were his squad.

It's time to assess your squad. Will your squad be perfect? No...we live in a world of imperfect people. But, we can all make choices for who we allow in our inner circle.

The Bible says..."For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:12.

Meaning we are ALWAYS in a battle. The question is who can trust to take into battle with you? Who can you count on when you are in the darkest moments of your life.

I encourage you to use this week to ask yourself, who is in your squad? May your friendships be full of victory and hope!
